Polarising Microscope

The polarizing microscope is both an optical measurement equipment and a tool for doing comprehensive examinations of specimens. A polarizer in the condenser and another installed in a slider in the tube above the objective, both in rotating, graded mounts, are included in addition to typical microscope optics. The specimen is lit with plane polarized light, and the rotation of this light is measured. Polarizing microscopes are very effective for studying birefringent materials such as crystals and strained non-crystalline substances. It is commonly used in optical mineralogy and chemical microscopy. The polarizing microscopes are suitable for student use.
